Coarse octahedrite to granular hexahedrite
These multi-kilo specimens were imported to the US in the 1990’s. Campo del Cielo meteorites are found on the border between the provinces of Chaco and Santiago del Estero, 1,000 kilometers northwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The strewn field field covers an area of 3 by 18.5 kilometres and contains at least 26 identifiable craters, the largest being 115 by 91 meters.
