SOLD OUT — Authentic 15″ x 25″ framed limited edition (of 12) broken glass artifact from Baturinskiy Razrez window, one of only three such windows thoroughly documented from, and shattered by, the massive Chelyabinsk event of February 15, 2013.
- Copy of “Acquisition and Removal of Three Windows” by Svend Buhl / Dave Gheesling.
- Custom professionally frame glass fragment, Chelyabinsk bolide and in-situ windows.
- Numbered, limited edition plaque detailing the bolide and window recovery.
Some 2 ½ minutes after the bolide’s appearance, the subsequent shock wave shattered countless windows. And the hospitalizations from injuries resultant of broken glass made international headlines.
Wow! I just received my limited edition Chelyabinsk Artifact and I must say the photos do these no justice whatsoever. A must have for any meteorite collector, enthusiast. The only preserved windows, and the only well documented glass from the event. If anyone hasn’t seriously considered purchasing they should. Thanks to all for making these available!
Really a great product. I traveled to Chelyabinsk, got my own glass while I was there, but the opportunity to obtain another broken window location with such impeccable provenance was too good to pass up. The frame was slated to go due to lack of wall space, but the photos do not do it justice. Now I must go through the arduous task of deciding what has to come down so this can go up. Absolutely top shelf in every regard. Well documented, well made, expertly shipped. I sell Chelyabinsk window glass as well… this frame is a better deal. Buy one. Thanks.
Can’t add any more superlatives than have been said already. This is a very, very limited opportunity to own such a piece of history but no this piece of history is also superbly documented and expertly and elegantly displayed. Really am very chuffed to have one on my wall 🙂
Received my frame and booklet yesterday. AMAZING. You did a wonderful job packaging it for shipment Took quite a while to unwrap all the bubble wrap. LOL Everything was in perfect condition! Ya know, I heard about the frame from Rob Wesel at Nakhla Meteorites while we were discussing Chelyabinsk meteorites in some e-mail communications. He told me that the photos on Svend’s website didn’t do the frames justice. He was right. They are much more beautiful in real life. Very professionally done. Also, so glad you sent the booklet. That was also professionally done and autographed and numbered on the back. Nice touch! Both are great keepsakes from a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event. I don’t think you will have any problems selling the remaining frames. It is obvious lots of love went into creating them. My grandson is into meteorites and he will inherit the frame after I am gone (hopefully not for a long while though, LOL)
This framed artifact is a wonderful – and affordable – piece of astronomical history. For a meteorite enthusiast, the opportunity to own a piece of the glass broken by the sonic boom from the Chelyabinsk meteorite is not to be missed. I am pleased to add this beautiful frame to my collection. As a NASA Solar System Ambassador, I often speak to groups interested in meteorites. Having this display adds credibility to the Chelyabinsk story, and touches participants in a way that photographs alone cannot. The fine documentation within the frame also enhances the explanation, bringing the reader a greater understanding of what a unique event this was, and at the same time making the artifact even more special.
Beautifully done, a must have for meteorite collectors. The story that comes with it really adds to it. Get one while they last!
How many this kind of impact artifacts are available? Not much if anything… Display is done with Great taste and is well documented.
Outstanding Chelybinsk window display which hangs proudly in my office. I am so glad to have obtained it. It will remind me of Dave every time I admire it.
